While most physicians specialize in HIV infection and AIDS: COVID-19, viral hepatitis including hepatitis B and C, and smear-negative tuberculosis, there are also physicians specializing in respiratory and urinary tract infection. In the inpatient wards, a team made up of a supervising physician with a wide-ranging knowledge and extensive experience and interns serve as attending physicians. They work together with nurses with many years experience in the care of patients with infectious disease.

In addition to blood tests and chest x-ray examination, researchers test for bacteria using blood, sputum and urine, and perform antigen and antibody tests. Echocardiography, abdominal ultrasound, CT and MRI tests, bronchoscopy, and lymph node biopsy are also performed, if necessary, to accurately diagnose disease and identify pathogenic microorganisms. This is part of our effort to providing high-quality evidence-based treatment. State-of-the-art treatments for hepatitis B and C, and HIV infection are also available.
