Office of Medical Clerical Support for Physicians

The Office of Medical Clerical Support for Physicians manages the work of medical staff, particularly doctors’ assistants, to ensure that their work is performed according to consistent hospital standards and in a manner that meets the needs of each department.

Overview

Doctors’ assistants are assigned to medical departments, and their specific tasks are determined by the departments to which they are assigned, causing issues with work management. In response, the Medical Support Center was established in October 2020 to improve the working environment for medical professionals by standardizing and overseeing the work of doctors’ assistants, and promoting task shifting and task sharing from doctors to medical staff such as doctors’ assistants.

Organization

The center is staffed by a center director, deputy director, administrative staff, doctors’ assistants and other medical staff.

Activities

A management meeting attended by physicians in charge of each department is held to ensure that both the Medical Support Center and the departments have a common understanding of how to operate according to hospital standards. Study sessions and other events are held to enhance the education system for doctors’ assistants. Work is also being done to improve the working environment to make the work of doctors’ assistants more efficient.
