Accreditation for Hospital Functions

On January 24, 2020, the University of Tokyo Hospital received the renewed certificate of accreditation for its hospital functions by the Japan Council for Quality Health Care (JCQHC).

Since the certificate of accreditation for hospital functions issued by JCQHC to the University of Tokyo Hospital was due to expire on January 23, 2020, the hospital underwent an evaluation on December 2019 to renew the certificate. As a result, JCQHC observed that the University of Tokyo Hospital demonstrates satisfactory compliance with the applicable JCQHC accreditation standards and issued the renewed certificate on June 5, 2020.
Upon undergoing the evaluation, the hospital staff all strived in their efforts to check and make improvements on issues to fulfill the additional accreditation standards in addition to ensuring that the standards fulfilled in the previous evaluation were fulfilled again, resulting in the successful renewal of the accreditation. At the University of Tokyo Hospital, we shall not only undergo evaluations by third party entities but also continue our periodic self-evaluations to maintain and improve an environment to provide each patient with the best medical care and contribute to the advancement of clinical medicine in Japan.
